Park Kenana

Kenana is the largest park on the territory of Haskovo Municipality (236.6 hectares). It is situated in the north-eastern part of the city. The largest part of the park is put under timber. There is a variety of wood spices spread. “The small and big wood”, the rose garden, the wood garden and the “dried river” are of great interest from dendrological point of view. A wide alley, 2.5 km long, extends along the park. It leads strollers to a park combination of man-made pond and a restaurant. A new alley, parallel to the main one and specialized for bike-riders, is planned to be constructed.

There are numerous of cafeterias, hotels, swimming pools, an open-air cinema, children’s spot, sports facilities. The tennis-courts are located here. There are eight fully-equipped courts with professional trainers available. The courts are suitable for tennis and squash training. Our fellow-citizen Grigor Dimitrov has started his career as a Wimbledon champion in youths here. The zoo-garden of Haskovo is situated in the park of Kenana. It covers an area of 9 decares on which a great variety of animal spices are located.
