Japanese food habits Before eating they say "Itadakimasu" which means "We receive" After eating they say "Gochisousama" which means "It was a feast" Dinner conversations can be about anything as in most countries. They eat most meals with "Hashi" or chopsticks. There are many table manners to follow when using chopsticks. Family dinners at home often have several large dishes in the middle where you can pick and choose what you want to eat and the quantity of it. Business meals are not uncommon, but less seen than in the US. Instead of dinner, often business is done in clubs over some drinks.
