UNIT 2 – M5 Katie Milne

Props For our Artisound event we had to create a prop. I came up with a few different ideas, shown on the mind map. I drew small sketches of what I thought some of the props could look like, and wrote breif descriptions of what id need and why the prop would be good/useful. After careful thought about where and when I could get the materials from I decided to make the artisound board.

Although I originally made a board that read artisound, my original idea was to make a interactive piano bench.

But because of the interactive seat pads it was harder than to seemed to make, especially the keys on the seating bit on the bench, so I decided to make the board that read Artisound as I was able to get the the wood and paint for free, and it was simplar and easier to make.

advantages The board was big so it was noticed easily and drew attention to the public Used water proof paint as was unpredictable what the weather would of done, and did not want the paint to run. It was light and slim, so was easy to travel with.

Disadvantages Did not have a stand so it had to be leant up against something or laid on the ground. Needed another layer of paint and needed to go around the outside of the letters to neaten it up, manage time better. Paint took a while to dry because of the type it was.
