National Health Service CUI Programme A Microsoft funded collaboration with the National Health Service in England (£40 million investment for Common User Interface CUI) A four year programme that started in 2005 and is focused on helping the NHS: –Increase patient safety –Increase clinician effectiveness –Increase the ease of adoption & relevance of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office to the NHS

NHS CUI Programme Outcomes User Interface Standards for clinical systems Microsoft Windows-based components for clinical applications Both can be adopted to be easy to use, enable patient safety, and provide consistency of user experience Concept prototypes to illustrates the art of the possible with clinical UI and new and emerging technologies
