USE THE CONTEXT OF THE FOLLOWING THREE EVENTS TO STIMULATE THE TEAM DISCUSSIONS 3

Mumbai - 26 November 2008 Twelve coordinated shooting and bombing attacks, Duration four days

Saturday September 21 st 2013 Westgate Mall Nairobi Saturday 21 September Through to Tuesday 24 th September

Geographical spread of response 350 people mobilised by Statoil as part of the response In total more than 2000 people evacuated In Amenas

Scenario You receive a report of a terrorist attack –There is the potential for a significant numbers of company personnel to be involved (local and expat). –There are, fatalities, casualties and multiple hostages –The location (and personnel) impacts a strategically important part of your business and has the potential to significantly impact revenue Consider what the demands are on an organisation which has employees (possibly including family members) and contractors caught in the incident. And discuss if these demands vary for a fully controlled “operational” site against “an open access” site.
