Social-educational work Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

The program of social partnership with student organizations Since 2011, the university is realizing the program of social partnership with student organizations, through which more than 100 student organizations are actively integrated into the processes that take place in the life of the university, city and country. Build an effective functional vertical of students’ self- government (SSG). Trade union "Parasat" From 2011 to 2014 trade union "Parasat" provided material assistance and food stamps for reduced price meals, assisted in the provision of exemptions for sanatorium and resort treatment to employees of the university.

During the period from to academic years the number of clubs and societies has increased twice. Over the past three academic years the proportion of students involved in the activities of organisations has increased 2.2 times and now is almost 10 thousand students (65% of the total number). Clubs and organisations

Assist students and employees in improving social conditions. A-Farabi KazNU developed and implemented social package for students formed by attracting sponsorship funds of the alumni and partners. In the framework of the social package more than 1000 students from socially vulnerable groups use social support of the University in the form of benefits and discounts in tuition, targeted financial assistance, provision of labor jobs, allocation of food stamps..

Assistance to students and employees in the improvement of social conditions Thanks to active work of the team by attracting sponsorship funds 300 and more sponsorship of scholarships for talented students by the partners and graduates of the University are established annually. In the three years since the introduction of this practice, the total amount of funds for these purposes amounted to about 100 million tenge.

Data on students’ employment Over the past four years the number of students that are employed on extra work at the university increased in 3.7 times.
