Connecting with Universities U-Connect Connecting with Universities A Heartfulness Initiative Presented to : < Name of College/University> Date: Venue:

What is Heartfulness ? Heartfulness is about feeling the lightness and joy of our true nature and experiencing it in our hearts. When we listen to the heart and capture the inspiration that comes from within, we can master life. This exercise of fine-tuning the heart with the mind is done through meditation on the heart. It is simple, easy and effective, and can be done every day by one and all irrespective of their age or station in life.

What is U-Connect ? Meditation-centric courses for students and faculty members. These courses are aimed at learning and deepening the art of meditation as an important life skill for self-development and for increased personal effectiveness in all spheres of life. Heartfulness Relaxation and Meditation techniques are offered as an aid to holistic development of students in these institutions in an open and secular manner We provide continued campus based meditation sessions facilitated by our trainers.

U-Connect: The Need Growing scientific interest in meditation and its proven benefits for holistic development Industry and society warming up to need for holistic development of mind, body and spirit for greater personal effectiveness with a values-orientation. Shift from IQ towards EQ (Emotional Quotient) and SQ (Spiritual Quotient) leading to demand for workforce comprised of individuals who are balanced and centered, as opposed to merely intelligent The UGC and Universities in India taking the above demand seriously and including various certificate courses on Self Development/Personal Growth in their curriculum. In 2014 UGC has proposed introduction of Yoga and Meidtation courses in all universities. NAAC also seeks value based education programs

Alignment with NAAC To make quality the defining element of higher education in India through combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance initiatives. Core values of NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Contributing to National Development Fostering Global Competencies in students Inculcating a value system among students Promoting use of Technology Quest for Excellence

U-Connect: Mission Statement To offer the youth of this country an aspirational set of values to live by; to help them achieve a balanced life focused on a spiritual goal and an ethical material life; and to contribute to nation building.

U-Connect: Guiding Principles Spiritual development must go hand in hand with Physical and Mental/Intellectual development to realize one’s true potential as a human being External motivation fails to create lasting inspiration unless it is complemented by a simple daily discipline “Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced” – John Keats “The only source of knowledge is experience” – Albert Einstein Crux of self-development is thus a process facilitated by meditation.
