OPERATION CERT Disaster Preparedness Exercise Campo, CA October 21, 2006

 EXERCISE CONCEPT  This functional exercise will have four major components.  CERT Teams – A train has hit a school bus trapping students. Railroad passenger cars have de-railed in the Carrizo George Rail Road sand loading yard in Campo. Victims need assistance.  American Red Cross - Open the Campo Community Center, 976 Sheridan Road Campo, as an area Red Cross Evacuation Shelter to test our Mountain Empire community Red Cross Volunteers.  RACES – Utilize ECHO III as the Area Incident Command and Community Communications Center.  Community – Participate in the ARC Shelter Drill and receive disaster preparedness information.

Hwy 94 and Forrest Gate Road

Enter off Forrest Gate Road. Follow Museum signs Turn left behind Health Center and follow dirt road to sand yard gated area and parking

 FUNCTIONAL EXERCISE OBJECTIVES  Assist CERT Teams with a realistic drill scenario in the CGRR Sand Yard.  Demonstrate the communities ability to operate a Red Cross Emergency Evacuation Center, following Red Cross Procedures. Disaster preparation information will be available for the public.  Demonstrate the ability to setup a Community Incident Command Communications Center in ECHO III.  Test CERT, ARC and the Communities Disaster Volunteers ability to coordinate resources and communications between drill locations.  Test the ability to coordinate resources and activities between local communities in the Mountain Empire Area and outside agencies.

What we need from the CERT Council - ASAP  Head count?  CERT Members  First Responders  Others?  Identify CERT Go Trailers and inventory available for the drill.
