The branches of government By: Emma R.

Executive office of the president. 15 executive departments. And 80 independent agencies.

A president must be 35 years old or older. He or she must have been living in the USA for at least 14 years. A natural-born citizen.

The lengths of the terms are 4 years!!!!! The number of terms you can have is 2.

And being head of the military!!

Another name for the President is the Chief Executive. The state of Washington was named after George Washington. When you are president you can control the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air-force!

The judges and cabinet members make laws. And approve appointments by the president.

1. House of representatives. 2. senate

The senate or house writes a bill. They vote in the bill. The bill goes to the president. The president approves the law =bill becomes a law. The president vetoes = the process starts all over.

Each state has 2 senators. The senators have 6 year terms. The qualifications are… 1. at least 30 years old. 2. a U.S. citizen for at least 9 years. 3. a resident of the state from which the candidate seeks election.

The number is based on the population of the state. 7 representatives 53 representatives I representative 1 representative

There are nine parts of the supreme court. There is a Chief Justice. And 8 associate justices.

Interpret the laws. To protect the rights and liberties of everybody. The supreme court has the power to decide whether a federal or state law or action by the president is constitutional.

Justices may remain in office for life. Justices are chosen by the president and approved by the senate.
