Main leadership/steer from local authority. Provide Local Strategic Partnerships and Local Area Agreements with a mechanism to work with and through sport. -empowered to create a coordinated local plan to increase participation and be funded to deliver it NOT another layer of bureaucracy, prevents duplication They JOIN UP the sporting landscape at the local level and provide a focus for engagement and investment.

Volunteering in Yorkshire & Humber 26 th October 2009 Shaping the future of sport and physical activity in South Yorkshire Embedded and Effective CSN To be considered ‘embedded and effective’, a CSN should have all of the following in place: Evidence of consultation and needs assessment Evidence of use of the data jigsaw (Active People, Active Places, PESSCL, Taking Part and local surveys etc.) to Action Plan SMART and costed Action Plan in place, with effective monitoring against delivery Evidence of increased investment secured against Action Plan priorities Evidence of formal strategic links, and delivery against LSP, LAA and Community Strategy targets Evidenced commitment of key partners and local leadership
