What is Aphasia? Aphasia occurs when the communication centres of the brain are damaged, usually after stroke.

People with aphasia Aphasia effects everyone differently People with aphasia can think clearly. People with aphasia are still competent adults.

Connect’s vision A world where people living with aphasia find opportunity and fulfilment

What Connect does We produce publications and resources by and for people with aphasia We provide training and consultancy to decision-makers and front-line providers in health and social care. We pilot and evaluates effective and economical services We raise awareness of aphasia All that we do is underpinned by practical research

Involvement We increase the ways in which people living with aphasia can be authentically involved in the services and opportunities available to them
