● First level of reading ● Tests whether the passage is understood at its most general level General Theme - Basic

● The first and last sentence provide a summary or preview/overview of the passage. ● This is the only time “skimming” could help you. General Theme Strategies

● Second level of reading ● Tests reader’s ability to read carefully Specific Points - Intermediate

● If something is particularly problematic, don’t dwell on it for too long. ● This is an open book test - return to it later when you have time. Specific Points Strategies
