Moroccan Seismic Network Upgrade 1st phase In progress : - 20 BB stations; - 11 SP stations; - VSAT facilities using 2 satellites & dual hub (seismic monitoring availibility even in case of one satellite faillure) stations linked simultaniuosely by VSAT & VPN for redundancy purpose - 8 stations equiped with STS-2 and Episensor - Data acquisition & processing system (antelope) Second Phase: - 15 BB stations; - 10 SP stations; - 40 accelerographs; - 15 Portable digital seismographs

New Station Installation

Seismic data exchange Last November, CNRST started the installation of new VSAT Seismic Network: -The Central acquisition system using Antelope software and Dual Hub VSAT System was installed, ; - 2 remote stations(1BB, 1SP) already installed and two other programmed for this month; - 2 BB stations in the north of Morocoo can be integrated to Nearest Nodes.

Integration of tide gauge data : - CNRST has ordered and bought several months ago (June 2007), a real time digital tide gauge; - CNRST signed an agreement with Harbours management department (HMD) for the installation and operating of the tide gauge acquired by the CNRST and to upgrade of tide gauges owned by HMD for real time data communication; - Casablanca Harbour was chosen to host the new tide gauge and the installation is scheduled in 3 to 5 weeks..
