Cities San Juan

location  The province of San Juan is located south of the continent, America, as part of the country, Argentina, in the central west of the country, on the eastern side of the Andes. Its boundaries are determined and naturally, mountain ranges and a river or at times artificially, by parallels and meridians

History of the city  First Inhabitants: Before the arrival of the Spanish, this area was inhabited by various indigenous nations huarpes (south), the Diaguita (center and north).  the foundation:In 1551 Captain Francisco de Villagra crossed the area of what are now the provinces of San Juan and Mendoza. Since then, several groups have explored territory sanjuanino sent by the authorities of the General Captaincy of Chile, which was a minor territorial division, which depended on the Viceroyalty of Peru. These previous expeditions made contact with huarpes Indians who greeted the Spaniards peacefully. The mere existence of a large number of Indians who could be brought to Chile to work in the fields or mines was one of the reasons why the Spaniards decided to take actual possession of these territories
