W ARM UP 10/28/14 Question: What is the density of water? Answer: 1 g/mL Goal: I will learn about buoyancy.

ELEMENT OF THE DAY 22 – Titanium – Ti Titanium, named after the Titans (gods of Greek legend), is very strong, non-rusting, and non-allergenic. It is used in artificial joints, dental implants and body jewelry. Titanium is so synonymous with strength that many products (like golf clubs) may put the word “titanium” on them without actually being made of titanium! Titanium dioxide is the universal white pigment in paint, and is a very common chemical. Pure titanium is refined from titanium dioxide, and is relatively expensive.
