The following six hallmarks of an effective and successful partnership underpin the new minimum standards: Empowered and effective leadership. To enable partnerships to respond quickly and effectively to needs of their communities Community engagement. Police and Crime Standards Directorate Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships London Scrutiny Network – 23 rd April 2008 Kathy Robinson CSR 07 - Make Communities Safer PSA (i) Reduce the most serious violence, including tackling serious sexual offences and domestic violence Indicator: The level of most serious violent crimes (measured nationally) (ii) Continue to make progress on serious acquisitive crime through a focus on the issues of greatest priority in each locality and the most harmful offenders – particularly drug- misusing offenders Indicator: The level of serious acquisitive crimes (measured at CDRP level; focus is limited only to those CDRPs with a level of the most harmful acquisitive crimes that is disproportionate when judged against what has been achieved elsewhere)

Alignment with related frameworks of other government departments and non-departmental public bodies, integrated across wider arrangements to manage and support performance. Improved quality and range of performance indicators reflecting (e.g.) PSAs / other priorities, relative seriousness, VfM and equality. Fewer performance indicators and targets with more shared indicators and targets between delivery partners. Better balance of accountability with more space for local flexibility and a reduced demand for data by central government. Deliver clear, consistent and timely messages to the public and to providers to promote visibility, accountability and responsiveness.
