PUTTING JESUS FIRST! Reading: Colossians 3:1-5.

Putting Jesus First! Colossians 3:1-5 – “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Colossians 3:11 – “…there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Putting Jesus First!

The Bible gives us no doubt about Christ’s pre-eminence: Colossians 3:4 – “Christ…is our life” Philippians 1:21 – “For me to live is Christ” John 14:6 – Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”. Putting Jesus First!

As Christians our lives are wrapped up in Christ! 1. We have been Crucified with Christ. Verse 3: “For you are dead” You are looking at a dead man! Putting Jesus First!

2. We have been Raised with Christ. Colossians 3:1 – “If you then be risen with Christ…” Romans 8:11 - “If the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwell in you He shall quicken your mortal bodies.” Putting Jesus First!

3. We live with Christ. Verse 4 – “When Christ, who is our life…” “This Is Your Life!!!” Ephesians 1:5-6 (NIV) “In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” Putting Jesus First!

4. Our life is Hidden in Christ Colossians 3:3 – “For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God”. In order for the devil to get to me he’s got to go through God the Father and God the Son. God is my life and protection!!! Putting Jesus First!

“I died with Him. I was raised with Him. I live with Him. And, I’m hidden in Him.” He is our life. He is everything.” Putting Jesus First!

Colossians 2:3 speaking about Jesus it says “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” There is no wisdom that this world has to offer that can compare with the only true wisdom that is in Jesus Christ. Make Jesus your all in all! Put Jesus First! Putting Jesus First!
