Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION Due to the controversial nature of this discussion, we must proceed carefully and cautiously. Carefully because it is a bible subject Cautiously because many emotions have the tendencies to cloud the issues, so to reach the truth, we must set emotions aside.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION When those who cannot argue their particular view from the pages of the Bible want to contend with you, they resort to all sorts of behavior. This includes character attacks and assassinations. Accusations of being evil, false, wicked, heartless, and uncompassionate will abound from these people.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION This study is not designed to be offensive to anyone. The people who teach these differing doctrines believe very strongly that they are right. Thus, both sides consider the others to be promoting false teaching. And though we may be in agreement in many areas, both sides will consider the danger of fellowshipping those who teach differently.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION This study is not asking for a compromise of teachings or even allowing that one side tolerate the other. This study seeks to determine the TRUTH as revealed from the Bible. Please enter a study of this as well as all subjects with a prayerful attitude. We know that God promises wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5). Let us use wisdom to apply the knowledge that God gives us.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION Please be open minded like the Bereans and study the scripture to see if the things are so (Acts 17:11). I have tried very hard to be open in this study and I can confidently say that I believe all that I will teach in these lessons to be the TRUTH as revealed in scripture. I have even considered the possibility that I could be wrong and viewed these arguments from both sides. I believe that I have chosen the teachings that the Bible teaches on this subject. All I ask is that you do the same.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION The bottom line is that we find a “Thus saith the Lord” and to do that we must seek book, chapter, and verse as our authority. We do not want to mis-inform anyone. We do this because we care for souls. If this teaching is too hard for you, just remember that this is God’s way. If you don’t like it, there are plenty of false teaches that will conform their teaching to what you want.

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.”

Divorce and Remarriage INTRODUCTION In the interest of presenting the truth, I feel that there is of necessity the exposing of error in whatever form it takes. I would encourage all Christians to study these issues very seriously. We should do this with the intention of being of the same mind, united into one spirit, maintaining the same love, intent on one purpose, and of being in the same judgment. (see 1 Cor 1:10 and Phil 2:1)

Divorce & Remarriage INTRODUCTION Why Study It? How to determine God’s authority What does God teach on this subject. What do we teach on this subject. How do we know we reach the right understanding?
