Requirements to Become United States President START

Citizen Requirements O To become the U.S. President the person must be a natural-born citizen.

Age Requirement O To become the United States President, the person must be 35 years of age.

Resident Requirement O To become the United States President, the person must be a resident of the United States for 14 consecutive years.

Presidential Term O One term is 4 years. O A United States President can serve for 1 or 2 terms. After the first term, the President must be re-elected. Franklin D Roosevelt has been the only President to serve for 4 terms!
