Welcome to Introduction to Working with Expert Texts

Overview  This course will be taught by me  over 2 semesters  Each semester there will be a short test with a 60% pass mark  You will have one chance to retake this, this time with a 70% pass mark  The course will finish with a 15 minute oral exam

Materials  The course will follow this book  Oxford English for Information Technology second edition  You can buy it or download it but you must have it by next week  As well as the topics and expert texts we study in this book we will use authentic expert texts which will be on my website   You must have the materials ready before each class so check my website before the lesson

Tests  The test will consist of short gap-fill tasks  The main focus on this course is new vocabulary, but there will be a few grammar questions related to topics we have covered
