Section , Florida Statutes requires districts to provide at least one enrollment period of 90 days or more which ends 30 days before the first day of the school year. Some districts also have a window of opportunity at the same time as enrollment for other school choice options in the district. Language in the Student Progression Plan can define when students may choose virtual options, including FLVS Open Enrollment

Enrollment Process Student requests a course; you will get a notification through VSA MDVS assigns the student a classroom; CRC becomes CA School or district contact confirms with MDVS by reply MDVS reviews each CRC and confirms with the school/district contact by You verify the Course Request; CR becomes CRC Teacher makes a Welcome Call; CA becomes A Course Requested Course Request Complete Classroom Assigned Active

Courses delivered by the FLVS on a public school campus shall be reported only by the school district in which the student is enrolled Courses completed through FLVS by a brick-and-mortar student outside of their scheduled school day will be reported by FLVS. This can result in the fractionalization of the 1.0 FTE, thus reducing the per-enrollment FTE for both entities. Contracts with districts for Virtual Learning Labs $267 based upon enrollment, not completion $325 based on successful completion Florida Virtual School (SB 1514)

180-day School Year Prior to : Students not finished by last day of school were withdrawn ( Complete Failing status) Effective : The rule is the same, but with exceptions….

180-day School Year “District virtual instruction programs, including district franchises, may offer courses beyond 180 days only for the purpose of course completion and credit recovery. Course completions apply only to a student who is enrolled and reported during the second or third membership surveys and does not complete a virtual education course by the end of the school year. These courses must be completed and reported by the deadline for amending the final enrollment survey for the year (Survey 4) to receive funding. Credit recovery courses are allowed for students who did not pass a traditional or virtual education course during the regular school year and must retake the course to graduate on time. There is no requirement as to the survey in which the completions for these courses must be reported “ from Florida Public Virtual Schools Questions and Answers
