The Heart In this Slide, describe what the Heart does………..

A Diagram of the Heart

What does each part of the Heart do? Left atrium - Tricuspid valve - Aorta - Superior vena cava - Right atrium - Right ventricle - Bicuspid valve - Pulmonary veins - Inferior vena cava - Septum - Pulmonary valves - Pulmonary artery - Left ventricle -

THE HEARTS Function and Structure The Function of the Heart is……………… The purpose of the Heart is……………

The Respiratory System Describe what the Respiratory System is……..

A Diagram of the Respiratory System

What does each part of the Respiratory System do? Trachea Epiglottis Bronchi Bronchiole Diaphragm Intercostal muscles Lungs Ribcage Alveoli Capillaries The pulmonary veins carry blood from the lungs to the heart. The pulmonary artery carries blood from the heart to the lungs. Deoxygenated blood, carrying carbon dioxide to the lungs to be breathed out. Oxygenated blood, carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body.

CONGRATUALTIONS!!! If you have completed all work up to here, you have a PASS!

How does Breathing work? What is GASEOUS EXCHANGE?

Thermoregulation Describe Thermoregulation Give an example of when this can happen.

VASODILATION Describe Vasodilation Give an example of when this can happen.

Vasoconstriction of Muscles Describe it…… Give an example of when this can happen.

2 Systems Working together How do both the Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems work together to take in Oxygen and give it to the rest of the body?

CONGRATUALTIONS!!! If you have completed all work up to here, you have a MERIT!

DISTINCTION* To get a Distinction in this assignment, you need to have included and explanation of how the 2 systems work together to REMOVE CARBON DIOXIDE.
