Warm Up You have 5 minutes to answer the following: What important discoveries were made through the construction of the Pyramids?

Objective SWBAT understand the important role the Pyramids played in Egyptian culture.

Video 7 ancient wonders of the world.

Can you infer which ancient wonder we will be focusing on in class today? (Turn and talk with your group)

By mid 2000 B.C. The Egyptians built the biggest and grandest of all pyramids- The Great Pyramid. Have you ever heard of this Pyramid before, and if so what do you know about it? (Turn and talk with your group)

The Great Pyramid still stands today as a part of the pyramids of Giza standing at a height of 500 feet- which is about 48 stories high, and for more than 4,000 years it was the tallest structure in the world. The Pyramids of Giza were built for three Kings and there are three Pyramids still active today.
