Forest Hills Bible Chapel Partnership and Solidarity II Cor. 9

Partnership A focus of relationship in a shared journey through which there is a continuing commitment and common struggle within a wider community context.

Koinonia – a biblical principle Association Communion Fellowship Close relationship Sharing Partnership

II Corinthians 9 A wealthy church is invited by Paul to enter into partnership with a poor church 2 chapters are devoted to reflections on the collection for the famine in Jerusalem Paul equates generosity with partnership, for both are rooted in God’s mercies and both reflect the biblical notion of solidarity Partnership is the witness of the Gospel

Key Verse – vs “This service that you are performing is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of your partnership, people will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the Gospel.”

First Key Principle Partnership in mission calls us to a deep emotional attachment

Second Key Principle Partnership requires a committed realism

Third Key Principle Partnership requires faith in the triumph of grace.

Fourth Key Principle Partnership in the gospel demands a vision for mission

Conclusion We are called to partner together to bring hope to the world. What value do you place on partnerships? What are you prepared to offer yourself to God and to God’s people to strengthen and deepen our partnerships? How will partnership and solidarity shape the future of mission at FHBC?
