IN SUMMARY: For industries to gain or maintain their competitive advantage, information technology must be used. The demand on companies to remain competitive has resulted in more adults returning to school to expand their skills Although IT has greatly improved healthcare, it cannot replace the face to face interaction (“high touch”) that patients have with doctors

SUMMARY continued … IT has enabled officers and investigators to prevent crime, or solve crime by putting information in the hands of key decision-makers at critical points IT is leading to a revolution in military affairs
