How do we position KM?  Tool for survival  Tool for improvement of: – system – procedures – people  Tool for integrating all productivity (create synergy)  Tool for reducing cycle time/delay  Mindset change

How do you ensure successful execution of KM?  Top management commitment  Employees’ commitment  Clear understanding for KM in the organization  Benefits of KM (What’s in it for me?)  Do a gap analysis of the above determinants  Motivate the adoption of KM (e.g. incentives, recognition, awards, grants) Determinant Where are we now? What are the instruments for monitoring KM? Next Steps – NPO Level  India – prepare a complete report about learning on KM and share with colleagues; conduct training on KM for SMEs  Indonesia – prepare report; plan for next year incorporating KM; conduct FGD at the university and training program on KM  Thailand – share experience to network in Thailand using Blogg to Blogg communication; trainers training on how to be more passionate in aligning KM with the organization mission and vision  Philippines – strengthen the KM network to build on capability in KM implementation and measurement

Next Steps – APO Level  Come up with a special working group with permanent reps from each NPO to work on KM to ensure the follow-thru of what we have started here.  This group can implement the agreed upon framework and meet on a regular basis to share their progress, best practices and lessons learned  Suggested venues: 1 st : Singapore; 2 nd Manila;3 rd Bangkok; 4 th New Delhi
