Calculate your course workload Each paper is worth a 15 points. Allocate one hour per point per week to study for each paper e.g. (1 paper x 15 points is 12.5 hours of study a week) x 4 papers = 60 hours per week This time includes reading, writing, lectures, workshops and revising – it doesn’t include drying, gluing, sanding, painting or design time, Some weeks you may need to do more Try to work consistently, within time limits and set weekly goals

Tips Do the worst job first Do the pass/fail material next Make study sessions short, 20 min, so take regular breaks Make sure each task has a deadline Use ‘To Do’ lists, phone alarms, post-its, diaries, wall-planners Get some study buddies Try to remember that life happens despite all the good intentions and planning. The university has systems to cope with this.
