What is the NDLR Pilot project with a 3 year life span with an end goal of producing a full ongoing repository service. Repository for “Teaching Resources” Technology hosted by HEAnet Funded by the HEA Run by the NDLR partners.

Objective To Investigate and pilot: –A Digital Learning Resource Repository –A small set of Tools to facilitate easy population of & retrieval from the repository –Guidance on Copyright, DRM, methodologies etc –Explicit support for : Best Practice in the development of learning resources Dissemination and “awareness raising” programs Nurturing communities to encourage successful implementation of the repository

Community Inter-Institution groups working toward improving the learning experience Various Online Tools to aid academic communities –Collaborative tools from Moodle –Mailing Lists –Video/Audio Conferencing Services Online tools not limited to the list above. New online collaboration can be suggested and where possible hosted by HEAnet.

Repository Services Storage, management and retrieval of any digital format including (complex) digital resources Tools for Resource Management e.g. workflow, import Packages, … Digital Rights Management Integration with external authentication, Interfaces for existing library systems, portals etc. Searching and structured browsing of the repository
