Course Outline  Attendance is crucial in any academic course due to the amount of work to cover in a short time.  There are 41 days to fit in a whole course, any day you miss it is your responsibility to get caught up. Look in your folder, talk to people in the class, come to extra help.  If you miss a test, you need a valid excuse to do a re-write. The excuse must be in within 24 hours of your return and the test will be made up the date of your return during lunch time.

Class Routines  Everyday will usually start with a warm up, this may be material we have just covered or older material. These warm ups are good to hold on to as they make excellent assessment questions.  Homework: It is your responsibility to finish any practice question on your own time if you do not finish in class. The key to Math 10 : the more time you put into the course in and out of school, the better your understanding and mark will be. Use lunch time if you don’t have time afterschool.

Class Routines  You will be receiving a folder where you will be putting all summative assessments.  When an assessment is due you will hand in your folder.  At the end of the term, this folder will be an excellent tool for exam review.

Pre-Assessment  Coming into Math 10 Academic leads to a provincial Math exam in Grade 12 so there are NO exemptions in any academic Math courses.  Please complete the Grade 9 Math assessment as best as you can. I will not answer any questions.  We will mark it afterwards together. If you receive a low mark, it is advisable to come in for extra help to review these concepts so you don’t fall behind in Math 10.
