Monitoring programme 2014 In total 1389 samples –National and EU-coordinated 62 % imported and 38 % domestic produced products National projects –Drinking water –Herbal drinks and fruit/vegetable juices Border control: 97 samples analysed

Methods Multimethod –GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS after QuEChERS extraction (EN 15662) –117 analytes on Agilent 7000 GC-MS Triple Quad –213 analytes on Agilent 6410 LC-MS Triple Quad 7 different group specific methods and SRM’s –29 analytes –Dithiocarbamates on GC-MS (SIM) and bromide on GC-ECD –Chlormequat/mepiquat on LC-MS –Rest on LC-MS/MS Products of animal origin –Three separate methods

Monitoring results In total 1389 samples were analysed in the pesticide monitoring programme 55 different countries 97 different commodities

Suspected illegal use of pesticides 2014 According to Norwegian legislation 11 samples –Hexythiazox in raspberries –Imidacloprid and spirotetramat in basil –Carbendazim and indoxacarb in red currants –Carbendazim in cucumber and apple –Clofentezin in red currants –Spinosad and azoxystrobin in lettuce –Spinosad and fludioxonil in sage Follow-up by the Food Safety Authority

The most frequently detected pesticides in 2014

Boscalid and imazalil were the most frequently detected pesticides in imported products –Boscalid; Apples and pears –Imazalil; Oranges, bananas, clementines Boscalid and fenhexamid were the most frequently detected pesticides in products from Norway –Boscalid; Carrots, strawberries etc. –Fenhexamid; Strawberries etc.

National projects Drinking water (10 samples) –Analysed for 120 different pesticides –No detected residues Herbal drinks and fruit/vegetable juices (17 samples) –Analysed with multimethod covering 330 different pesticides –No detected residues
