Thanks for a wonderful class!

A Sense of a Goose  Next fall, when you see geese heading south for the winter, flying along in 'V formation, think about what science has learned about why they fly that way.  As each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following it.  By flying in a 'V formation, the whole flock can fly at least 71% farther than if each bird flew on its own.  We are better when we work as a team.

 When a goose falls out of formation, it feels the resistance of trying to go it alone, and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of flying with the flock.  If we have as much sense as a goose, we will work with those who will take us in a positive direction.

 When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose flies on the point.  It pays to take turns doing hard jobs for our group.  The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed.  We all need a little encouragement.

 Finally, when a goose weakens or is wounded and falls out of formation, two geese fall out and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly or until he is dead, and they then set out on their own or with another formation until they catch up with the group.  If we had the sense of a goose, we would stand by each other like that.

Challenge 1  The first 6 students to do this get a prize:  Stand up, run to the back wall and touch it.  Then, skip up to the front and give me a High Five  RULES of the Challenges: Once you get a prize, you are eliminated from future challenges.

12 Rules of Life (as opposed to 12 days of Christmas)  1. Never give yourself a haircut after 3 margaritas.  2. Living well really is the best revenge. Being miserable because of a former or bad relationship just might mean that the other person was right about you.  3. Learn that even when you have pains, you don’t have to be one.

 4. Don’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back.  5. Worry is the most unproductive of all human activities  6. Life isn’t about finding yourself. It’s about creating yourself.

Challenge 2 the first five to….  Hold your hands in the air and say “Hallelujah”!  Then jump up and say “I’m going to be an amazing teacher!”  Then run up and stand beside me.

Continued  7. Take moments like this to stop and just feel the magic in the world.  “Hallelujah” “Hallelujah”  8. Destiny is not a matter of chance, it’s a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.  9. Dare to be who you really are.

Challenge 3  Write down one word that describes how you feel about Christmas.  The first 5 that bring it to me get a prize.

 10. Laugh often, long and loud.  Ha ha Ha ha  11. Keep learning.  Enjoy all that kids bring. Enjoy all that kids bring.  12. Live each day with gratitude.  Support Video Support Video
