Wishes I wish I could find a job. Has he got a job now? Does he want to find a job? So, what is he saying? wish + past simple (present)

I wish I hadn’t parked my car here. He has been given a parking ticket because he parked his car in a no- parking area. So, what is he saying? wish + past perfect (past)

I wish my son would stop interrupting me. The woman is trying to work but her son keeps interrupting her. So, what is she saying? Is the woman in the picture annoyed by her son behaviour? Does she want her son to change his behaviour?

a) I wish you would tidy your room. b) I wish it would stop raining. a)Are we giving a polite order? b)Do we want the rain to stop? Are we expressing a wish for a change in a situation? Wish + would polite imperative change in a situation/sb’s behaviour

I wish / If only I were rich. I wish / If only I was rich. Is there a difference in meaning between these two sentences? We can use the expressions if only instead the verb wish. (If only is more emphatic than I wish). We can use were instead of was in the third and first person singular after wish and if only.
