 February 7 th - Course selection cards distributed to students (students select 5 th Major and Music).  Mid-April and June - Verification sheets will be sent home. *Note: Course Selection Cards will not go home Important Dates

 Teachers will make their recommendations for required major courses.  On February 7 th students will write their choice for a music and an elective major on Course Cards. An alternative elective should be listed. Course Requests

 Teachers base recommendations on the student’s current performance in class.  Level changes require discussion between parent and teacher.  Teachers may change the recommendation later in the year if they feel it is appropriate. Course Level Recommendations

 Students in 7 th grade level 5 or 6 math will be taking the Hanna-Orleans Algebra/Geometry Prognosis Test during the 1 st or second week of February.  Students who score 45 on Algebra and 22 on Geometry tests and show ability in their math class may be recommended for Algebra in 8 th grade (one year advanced).
