This increase in students means that the district has surpassed its enrollment projections for the school year. FCS is the ninth largest school district in Georgia. Advance Explore Enhance Advance Highlights| Forsyth County Schools I3 Grant The U.S. DOE awarded FCS a $4.7 million 2010 Investing in Innovation Fund grant. Nearly 1,700 applications were received; FCS was the only recipient in Georgia and one of only 12 public school districts in top 49. Advance Explore Enhance Advance Highlights| Forsyth County Schools 2012 Strategic Plan FCS has completed one year of the Strategic Plan. Detailed action plans have been developed and the evidence of the district’s work towards achieving the plan’s goals has been collected and communicated. As a component of the plan, student, staff, parent and community Climate Surveys will be conducted late October/early November. Results will be reported in the Spring. SPLOST III All SPLOST and Bond projects have been completed, however SPLOST collections are down 13% and expires June of FCS is discussing placing the renewal vote on the November 2011 ballot. Continued SPLOST funding would go towards bond debt payments.
