Gift of Peace Turkey Every Global institution has a definition for peace MANIFESTO 2000 BY UNESCO UNESCO CULTURE OF PEACE. WHAT IS IT 8 TREASURES OF PEACE BY WOSM MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS BY UN WPAY UN YOUTH ACTION PROGRAM FOR YOUTH YEAR 3000 AND BEYOND COUNCIL OF EUROPE YOUTH PRIORITIES

Here is one from UNESCO which is drafted by laureates of Nobel Peace Prize: Foster a culture of peace through education Promote sustainable economic and social development Promote respect for all human rights Ensure equality between women and men Foster democratic participation Advance understanding, tolerance and solidarity Support participatory communication and the free flow of information and knowledge Promote international peace and security

WOSM detailed the peace as eight treasures of the peace in1999. Here are these treasures: Education for Peace Democracy Tolerance and solidarity Respect for Human Rights Gender Equality Refusing Violence Free flow of information

We sorted these dimensions of Peace and find following composition of them PROGRAM 1: Peace Education PROGRAM 2: Development and general education PROGRAM 3: Sustainable development and Environment PROGRAM 4: Human development and rights PROGRAM 5: Democracy and Democratic Participation and citizenship PROGRAM 6: Tolerance and solidarity and global partnership PROGRAM 7: Gender Equality PROGRAM 8: Free flow of information PROGRAM 9: Action against violence PROGRAM 10: Health PROGRAM 11: Juvenile delinquency PROGRAM 12: UN Youth program

PROGRAM 1 For peace education we decided to work on Manifesto 2000 which was introduced in the year 2000 by UNESCO. It is a petition for peace written by Nobel Peace Prize laureates. Now we are planning to make a web page to make people encourage signing this petition and we are sure that the 28 million scouts of the world will easily finished it up. UNESCO needs only 24 million petitions before the year There will be more projects on every International Day of Peace – 21 September. The first one is a poster series with some games entitled Scouting and Peace which is fully passed on the WOSM book “Scouting and Peace” Over 70 million signatures collected

Leadership on Community Service Award Proposed to WSPU General Meeting and Adopted on Conference report PROGRAMME 2, We are going to make an Award System for scouts and guides of Turkey depending on volunteer time spend for community service. Award will be given by a VIP who is known all around the Turkey

PROGRAMME 3 Is a Regional project titled” Let’s save the Black Sea” Now we know how to save this sea. We would like to disseminate it to people we can interest and care for the issue. We have a guidance written by experts of 6 coastal states of Black Sea and many projects and events going on the countries where a river passing through toward Black Sea. We would like just to share our activities and experience.

PROGRAM 4 We have a book ready for publication. It will be posted on the internet in English too. Children rights Advocate Youth to youth program will be implemented on Venture scout programs and global development workshops at all level camps Council of Europe Human rights

PROGRAM 5 Democracy and Democratic Participation and citizenship will be celebrated all along the year within the scope of European year of Education for Citizenship. We have already made exhibitions in Several National Scout Camps and National events

PROGRAM 6: Tolerance and solidarity and global partnership/ Our target is to contact with Scouts of Iraq and send them 6 cubic meter of Surgical supplies to be given needy parents. We thought Those children will became a scout or a guide soon

OTHER PROGRAMS The other programs will have E- toolkits consists of posters games displays puzzles. Guides for celebration to be used in local celebrations and observation on their local meeting places exhibition places open to public and schools. Most of the tool kits made and distributed all around Turkey by mails, CD’s and s since 1999 on significant United Nation days years decades and Observances and European Years of Council of Europe and European Union
