Revival By A River II Kings 6:1-7
We cannot do the work of God without the power of God. When folks are filled with the Holy Spirit, they will win souls to Christ. When folks are filled with the Holy Spirit, they will live right. When folks are filled with the Holy Spirit, they will give sacrificially. I would say that the greatest danger we face is the danger of losing the touch of God; the power of God upon our lives.
A Commitment Is Evident “Wake up, sing up, preach up, and pay up, but never give up, or let up or shut up, until the cause of Christ in this church and in the world is built up.”
A Crisis Is Engaged The power of God is an instrument from God. It doesn’t belong to the preacher. It doesn’t belong to the church. It doesn’t belong to a denomination. May I say that no denomination has a monopoly on the Holy Spirit.
A Cessation Is Experienced Someone has said there is an abundance of energy in the church today, but it’s not conquering energy conscious of power, but feverish energy conscious of its impotence.
Concern Is Expressed
Continuation Is Enjoined Always the place to find lost power is where you lost it.
You know when and where you lost the presence and power of God. – Was it when you went off to college? – Was it when you were in the service? – Was it when you became engrossed in business? – When it when you gave up praying and Bible reading? – Was it when you quit going regularly to church?
Proverbs 29:18, “ He that covereth his sins shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh then shall have mercy.” Proverbs 8:6, “ Hear, for I will speak of excellent things.”
Listen to me with your face: – I want you to listen to God with your face today. What is He saying to you? What does He want you to do? Does He want you to respond to His love and grace in this service?
