Sales and purchase control accounts are verified by totaling those transactions for the current financial year. Stock and WIP control accounts are verified by totaling the products and jobs. Goods delivered but not invoiced controls are validated by totaling incomplete lines on purchase orders. Any overall discrepancy is posted to the suspense account so that the ledger remains in balance.
