Adobe Connect Audio Setup and Best Practices Tutorial By Jeremy Hicks

Plan Ahead Go through Adobe Connect meeting prep checklist Prepare the meeting room Upload /share/convert necessary files, sound clips, and videos Consult IMS if necessary Pre-test Dry run Avoid last minute changes

Communicate Make sure all presenters understand what their role is Make sure all involved individuals are informed of requirements and responsibilities Make sure that no one is taken by surprise

Equipment Use wired network Use headset microphones For complex setups and special equipment contact IMSA Media Services

Extra Time Allow time before the meeting event starts Sound Check Final check on everything

Audio Only 1 computer in a room with speaker and microphone turned on If you’re not talking, mute your microphone Turn off any unneeded microphones or speakers Don’t put speakers near to or facing microphone

Correct Volume Settings Multiple places to control volume Settings should be balanced Distortion or clipping means volume is too high Muffled or aquatic sound means volume is too low
