Additional Mystery Titles “The more a sailor knows about his captain the more he’ll know how he’ll weather the gales.” It is up to Master John to find out as much information as he can about the spies in order to save his father, but who can he trust? When her mother asks her to return a pair of garden shears to old Mrs. Roth next door, Hero has no idea that she is about to become involved in a mystery that stretches back to the time of Shakespeare.

Additional Mystery Titles Miss Penelope Lumley is the new governess at Ashton Place and is in charge of teaching three young children who have been raised by wolves. She is up to the task, but someone is out to sabotage the children and there is mysterious howling coming from the attic! Nobody Owens lives in a graveyard and is being raised by ghosts since his family was murdered. He is being taught all the things that a proper ghost must learn, but he shouldn’t leave the graveyard since his life is in danger. If he can’t leave, how is he to learn about the outside world?

Selection Criteria  Each book must have won an award and/or have been reviewed by a reputable source  If the book has not won any awards, it must have at least two reviews  The book must be appropriate for tweens ages 8 to 14 and fall into the mystery genre
