Moray And Drugs 0.6% of Morays population aged between 16 and 64 are estimated to be Problem Drug Users compared to 1.7% nationally for Scotland. 8.4% of people in Moray perceived that drug misuse or drug dealing was very or fairly common in their neighbourhood in 2012/13 a decline from 10.1% on the previous year.

Moray and Alcohol 41% of individuals in Grampian drink above the daily or weekly recommended limit as set out by the Scottish Government. 20.6% of individuals in Grampian binge drink. 20% of all Alcohol Related Discharges from Moray hospitals were due to Alcohol Dependence, and 17.4% were due to Alcoholic Liver Disease.

Age, Drugs and Alcohol 38 % of all 15 year olds surveyed in the 2010 SALSUS had drunk an alcoholic drink in the past week. 16% of 15 year olds surveyed in the 2010 SALSUS had taken drugs in the previous year. 22% of all Harmful or Hazardous drinkers in Moray are aged over 65 and 9% of all Alcohol dependant drinkers are aged over 65.
Profile of the Moray Drug and Alcohol User In 2013/14 there were 289 clients who were assessed in MADP Services. In 2013/14 60% of those accessing MADP services were male and 40% were female. The highest number of clients in MADP services fell into the age bracket. During 20113/ % of people accessed MADP services for Alcohol misuse issues, 48.3% for Drug misuse issues and 7.9% for both alcohol and Drug Misuse issues. Throughout 2013/14 no client has waited more than 3 weeks between referral and treatment.
