Introduction In the Midwest there are twelve states and they are North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio those are the 12 states in the Midwest.

Climate  The Midwest region receives up to 20 to 40 inches of rain each year, that makes it ideal for crops. This region is part of tornado Alley, the area with The most frequent tornados in the country. Topography The Mississippi River flows through this region, a great way for transportation. There are two other important waterways, the Ohio River and the networks of routes within Great Lakes. Four of the Great Lakes touch the Midwest, Erie, Huron, Michigan and Superior. The plains are sounded on the east by the Appalachian Mountains and the Rockies on the west. Tourist Attractions  The Mandan railroad museum was designated the official state railroad museum of North Dakota in Large and small railroad artifacts fill all corners of the museum.
