Objective: Review and purchase a data analysis software system in order to more effectively use student achievement information.  Update on the three-year curriculum cycle  Display data snapshots from local student assessments given with the Pearson Limelight program

 Language Arts and Literacy curriculum aligned to the National Common Core Standards.  Curriculum is written and currently validating the learning targets.  K-12 PE/Health/Driver’s Ed and High School Spanish curriculum written

 Common Assessments created for math, social studies, music, and business  Term exams were given in Math and Business at the end of 2 nd Term  Online assessments are currently being given during 3 rd Term in Global Studies as a pilot group  Term exams will be given in Math, Social Studies, and Business at the end of 3 rd and 4 th term

 Math and Business department have met and discussed term exam data for the purpose of instructional improvement.  The Rising Star Leadership Team is developing guiding questions for departments/course groups to use as a foundation in the data analysis discovery process.

Objective: Provide on-going staff development in the areas of student assessment, research based instructional strategies, and effective teaching.  List of major professional development offerings for the school year, including the number of staff served

 Prior to this year, 12 teachers have attended this training.  During this school year, a total of 18 teachers will have participated in this training.

 Workshop is geared towards providing lesson planning strategies for teachers  Participants chosen to attend include teachers who have not taught on a traditional schedule.  Total of 12 teachers will go through the training during the Spring, with a possibility of more this summer.

ALL teachers will participate in this workshop. In this 3 hour workshop, teachers will learn the 7 step data analysis process: 1. Data Table (pose question & collect data) 2. Graphic representation of data 3. Observe, discuss, and document data patterns 4. Identify Goals 5. Hypothesis – pose hypothesis for observed patterns 6. Develop strategies 7. Monitor IMPLEMENTATION with fidelity
