Contraception is……. Different ways of making babies. Various methods by which a couple can avoid an unwanted pregnancy.

Copy: Contraception – various methods by which a couple can avoid an unwanted pregnancy. Did you choose the right one?

Which of these forms of contraception can you name?

Roman Catholic views In 1984, the Pope said: ‘Only natural forms of birth control do not offend the moral order established by God’ What did he mean?

Roman Catholics believe that sex is a gift from God, given in order that they reproduce and populate the earth: God blessed them and said to them,’Be fruitful and increase in number’ Genesis 1:28 When a couple have sex, they must allow for the possibility of a new life being created, so no artificial means can be used to prevent conception. Roman Catholics can use the rhythm method to reduce their chances of conception.

What do other Christians think? Most other Christians believe that although sex is a gift from God and should be saved for marriage, contraception can be used to make sure all children conceived are planned and wanted.

Research and classify Using the textbooks research how Christians have different views about the use of contraception. As a group classify the information you have researched using the template in your booklets.

Hindu views on the use of contraception. Q uestions. 1. Does the Hindu belief in ahimsa mean contraception is frowned upon? 2. Has the attitude of modern Hindu leaders changed? 3. Does the system of Varnashramadharma mean contraception should be unnecessary? A nswer D etail
