Presentation transcript:

What kind of material are you thinking about? What sort of pieces, in a dream world, will you include? Can you lead us through some models online? Short fiction and non-fiction (nothing trashy) that reflect the aesthetic of this year’s theme.

The prose pieces themselves should be organized and easy to read. It should be eye catching, but not busy. Navigational Template design is more artistic and fun. How will your section be presented?

We really like the idea of having the artist be a part of the work- this is shown with the artist’s bio. The simplicity of the presentation shows that we feel that the work is important. We’re considering the idea of having a quick introduction (2-3 sentences) for each piece. We feel that a simple explanation of why we, as the editors, were interested or inspired by each piece will justifying the author’s work as interesting literature. How is your editorial imprint activated by your section? What is your relationship with the material, with the artists themselves?

How will your section be in conversation with the rest of DIN? How multi-modal is your section? How will you make it more so than a print magazine? Each page will have the DIN branding and navigation on each page. Our pages will have the navigation which makes it multi-modal, but the emphasis is on the work. The artist bios will include a link to the artist’s work, giving the reader access to other online spaces of the artists.

How does your section contribute to/reinforce/extend the mission of DIN? The pieces will comply with the DIN submissions call

What is the role that you will foster between readers and content, readers and editors, readers and the writers themselves? How can your section increase reader involvement? Readers and content: the readers will be able to connect the theme of the site with the theme of the pieces. Readers and editors: readers can editors with comments. Readers and writers: the readers will be able to click on links to the writer’s blogs and/or websites.

What is the theme of your section (see DIN mission statement)? See DIN mission statement
