“Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from Heaven”

In our previous studies we have discovered… 1. The first six TRUMPETS – may represent 4 major world events in the Last Days Generations. 2. I believe that 3 of the major world events have already occurred, with the 4 th one yet to come. I believe that the Trumpets are blowing in our day! (See previous messages on Chapters 8 &9) 3. The SEVENTH TRUMPET – signals the very last “days” and particularly - the “hour” of the rapture. Rev 10:7 and I Corinthians 15:51 make this extremely clear. Rev. 10:7 “But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished…” 1 Corinthians 15: Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-- 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Before we read the text this morning – CONSIDER THIS: 1. The first 6 Trumpets end with Chapter The 7 th Trumpet doesn’t blow until Chapter 11: Between the end of Chapter 9 and Chap. 11:15 - there is much material! (Chapter 10 and much of Chapter 11 – with some very important information!) 4. This means that some very important things are going to be revealed BEFORE the 7 th trumpet blows. 5. At least these two must happen – 6 th Trumpet – (4 th event). The anti-christ appearance and attack – (Chap. 11:7) READ CHAPTER 10

THREE FOCAL POINTS THIS MORNING (Next week we will look at some more details of this chapter!) 1. THE MIGHTY ANGEL – who is he, why is he significant? 2. THE LITTLE SCROLL – what is this “little” scroll – why is it significant? 3. WHAT DOES ANY OF THIS HAVE TO DO WITH US?

I. THE MIGHTY ANGEL READ Revelation 10:1-6 again and notice the description 1Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. 2He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, 3and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke. 4And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven say, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down." 5Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. 6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay!

COMPARE TO THE “MIGHTY ANGEL” OF DANIEL! Dan 10:5-8 5I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist. 6His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude. Dan 12:7-10 7The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I HEARD HIM SWEAR BY HIM WHO LIVES FOREVER, saying, "It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed." 8I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, "My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?" 9He replied, "Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end. (THE SAME ANGEL?) The ONLY two places in the Bible where an angelic being “Swears by Him who lives for ever…” are here in Revelation and Daniel!

In the book of Daniel this same angel – (between Chaps ) 1. Speaks of the “end times”. 2. Speaks and warns of an “anti-christ”. 3. Speaks of the anti-christ persecuting God’s people. 4. But..speaks of how God’s people will overcome and be raptured or “delivered” in the days of this persecution. It is my strong belief that this “Mighty Angel” of Revelation 10 and 11 speaks of the very same things…between the 6 th and 7 th Trumpet! Indicating AGAIN…that the trumpets come BEFORE the rapture - the early Christians would have KNOWN THIS! They KNEW DANIEL!

II. The LITTLE SCROLL THE FOCAL POINT OF THE CHAPTER!

II. The LITTLE SCROLL SOME CLUES TO INTERPRETING – see if you can figure out what the little scroll is! 1. LITTLE Scroll – NOT the 7 sealed scroll of chapter 5! 2. OPEN in his hand – needed no “unveiling of seals, etc…it was open to all who cared to read and hear it. 3. One foot on SEA - and the other on the LAND – this scroll was open and available to the whole world! 4. Take the scroll and EAT it – SWEET to taste – SOUR in stomach (The same as Ezekiel 2:8 – 3:3. The early Christians would have known this too!)

Ezek 2:8-9 8But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you." 9Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll, Ezek 3:1-3 1And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel." 2So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. 3Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth EAT IT – let it become a part of who you are! Not only speak it, but live it… TASTED SWEET AS HONEY – it is always sweet to be obedient in speaking what God has told you to speak and living what God has told you to live! SOUR IN YOUR STOMACH (Rev. 10:9) – It is always a bitter heartache – to preach, speak and share what God has commanded you …and to have it rejected by many. It is the same heartache to live what God has commanded and to be persecuted by others simply for living for Jesus.

THE LITTLE SCROLL IN THE HAND OF THE ANGEL OF REVELATION – is none other than the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus! We are to preach it, teach it and live it - especially in these TRUMPET DAYS…like never before! It is bitter/sweet to do – but we are COMMANDED to do it! LISTEN TO WHAT GOD TOLD EZEKIEL ABOUT HIS “SCROLL”! Ezek 3: "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 19But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself. 20"Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 21But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself."

1. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE (The Church) CAN DO IN THESE LAST DAYS - Preach…Reach…Teach! (Worship, Children, Youth, Missions, Discipleship) WE ARE THE “WATCHMEN” IN THESE LAST DAYS! GOD IS HOLDING US ACCOUNTABLE! 2. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO– Know the Word! Live the Word! Share the Word! Lead others to the Word! Lead them to and keep your family under the Word! 3. The most important RELATIONSHIP you can have…
