Presentation transcript:

This slide will show you what frog week is all about and some other stuff as well.

What is frog week? Frog week is when you can learn about native frogs, how important they are to New Zealand, and what you can do to help save them. Frog week for 2009 will be held from the 27 th of September to the 3 rd of October. The Department Of Conservation are the people who made up frog week.

What are frogs????? Frogs are amphibians that have long back legs, a short body, webbed fingers and toes, have eyes that stick out but not tail. Frogs come in all different shapes, sizes and species. most species of frogs live in the tropical rainforests. Most of the frogs are invertebrates.

What can we do to save the frogs? We can save the frogs by not littering things that will make our frogs die. Not polluting the planet or the frogs will die. Educating the public to stop killing frogs. Look after the places that frogs live so we can keep our frogs healthy. Don’t squash frogs if you see any! Stop having frogs legs for dinner!

Fun facts 2008 was the national year of the frog and was being celebrated in New Zealand until June Another name for frogs are Anura, which means tailless amphibians. Frogs are widely known for their jumping. Frogs have very powerful legs. Frogs usually lay their eggs in puddles, ponds and lakes. Tadpoles have gills and develop in water. Frogs are recognised a lot by their call, day and night.

Thank you!!!!!!!! Thank you for watching my slide and I hope you have learned something from my slide. Remember don’t kill frogs! By Ben Seto. Great work Ben. It is important to use the information you researched and then rewrite it into your own words! Well done!
