FOODS Turkey cosine is largely made up of Ottoman Cosine Olive Oil is used heavily for cooking Mediterranean regions are rich in vegetables, herbs and fish A typical Turkish breakfast consists of cheese, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, jam and honey. Soups are also eaten as a morning meal in Turkey. In the hot summer of Turkey the meal consists of fried vegetables such as eggplants with yogurt, tomato sauce or cucumbers.

Turkish Architecture The earliest form of the Ottoman mosque consisted of a single prayer hall covered by a hemispheric dome, with a covered porch minaret outside. The Konak (mansion house) consisted of wooden structure built on a foundation of stone and brick to withstand the cold Anatolian winter. The ground floor contained granaries, stables and storage areas.

Music The music in Turkey is diverse and despite the attempts of various political leaders that have tried to dampen down the music in Turkey, these rich styles have managed to survive and even flourish. Classical music (called sanat or klasik) is one opulent strand of Turkish tradition, Turkish folk music is also very popular among the Alevi Muslim community.
