LEGAL FRAMEWORK DOMICILIARY CARE: TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION IN SPAIN Resolution 2 nd Dec 2008 Royal Decree 1224 of 2009 Resolution 4 th Nov 2009 Royal Decree 259 of 2004 Law 5 of 2002 Qualification and Vocational Training Establishment of training offers by the Qualification and Vocational Training System Regulation of qualifications according to experience and informal training Establishes the procedure to recognize qualifications This will be followed by the different Regions in Spain National Catalogue of Qualifications and Vocational Training Curriculum of Socio-sanitary Domiciliary Care Area Criteria to guarantee the quality of centres and services of SAAD Qualifications required Training common criteria for informal carers

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION DOMICILIARY CARE: TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION IN SPAIN The interconnected regulation system lead us to some findings:  To work in domiciliary care will be needed “Domiciliary Care Professional Qualification”.  The aforementioned qualification will be required progressively until 2015, year in which will be necessary that 100% of professionals are qualified.  Training and qualification will be oriented to 3 type of learners: New learners without experience: They can study through Vocational Training System to obtain a qualification. Professional with experience without certificate: They can be qualified proving their experience. Informal carers: They can receive training to support their work and also be qualified.
