Cardiff EDC event Friday 1 March 2013 St Davids Day St David is the patron saint of Wales, and his contribution to Welsh history and culture is celebrated on St Davids Day, 1st March. Cardiff EDC marked the occasion with an exhibition, including advice on finding information about Wales and Europe and free Welsh language booklets supplied by the European Commissions Office in Wales.

Cardiff is named European Capital for Sport Cardiff has been successful in securing the prestigious title of European Capital of Sport The announcement was made by officials from the European Capitals of Sports Association (ACES) at an event held in Valencia this week. It was recognised that Cardiff has firmly established itself as a leading city for sport, offering state of the art stadiums and facilities including the Millennium Stadium, SWALEC Stadium and Cardiff International Sport Stadium. In the News… Monday 4 March 2013 Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs Europe faces up to 900,000 unfilled ICT jobs and declining competitiveness. The number of digital jobs is growing – by 3% each year during the crisis – but the number of new ICT graduates and other skilled ICT workers is shrinking. The European Commission is issuing a call to action to companies, governments, educators, social partners, employment service providers and civil society to join in an effort to reverse this trend.
