Moving People The Electric Tbus Group

Better street environment needs - reduced congestion less pollution quicker journey times better service frequency improved reliability greater safety

Electric transit gives - a public transport system to attract car users an improvement in ride quality an improvement in air and noise pollution levels better health, for passengers and street users reduced traffic congestion Trams have a large carrying capacity Trolleybuses are a more cost effective option

Trams are - Zero emission quiet and smooth able to transport large numbers attractive to passengers provide level boarding too expensive to be widely implemented only economic if installed using redundant rail alignments disruptive during installation

Trolleybuses are - Zero emission quiet and smooth able to transport considerable numbers attractive to passengers provide level boarding a strong, visible commitment by the operator able to increase patronage by 15% plus more expensive to buy than diesel buses economically viable at passengers/hour

Trolleybuses v Trams trolleybuses cost significantly less to install than trams trolleybus infrastructure costs less to maintain trolleybuses are more autonomous and cope better with traffic disruptions the power supply equipment can be inherited by either mode both modes have the same environmental advantages both modes offer level boarding

Around the World Rome is implementing a 10 route network plan justified by linkage to health costs running costs the same as buses expected to reduce pollution wire-free running in historic centre

In North America Vancouver committed to retaining trolleybuses zero emissions clean, quiet and even ride permanence created by fixed overhead good on heavy routes $390 million investment

In Lyon Lyon uses ultra modern ‘new generation’ trolleybuses 3 new routes planned instead of tram extensions exclusive rights of way priority at crossroads level boarding stations investment in high quality public transport

State of the art 25m 200 passenger trolleybuses on trial capable of dealing with 10,000 passengers/hour between 1/10 th and ½ the cost of tram installation cheaper running costs than diesels could provide a London wide network on 5 min routes significant pollution and congestion reduction

Electrify the buses!
